An emergency generator has one function on board: keep steering gear, navigation, communication, and bilge pumps running the moment the main power plant fails. On a superyacht, that’s rarely just a convenience. Unlike a continuous power source, the emergency generator jumps in instantly when the main power plant fails and takes on the full electrical load without warning.

Zenoro builds its emergency generator set on the proven John Deere engine platform. That means reliable performance exactly when it’s called on: automatic start, cold-start reliability, and voltage build-up fast enough to take the load the moment it’s needed.

Pre-engineered

Every set in this range is pre-engineered, built on years of experience and refined configuration, and ships from stock, keeping lead times short. The standard design covers a compact steel enclosure with high-class insulation for noise reduction, available as an open or closed set with a single service side for the oil, fuel, and air filters; several custom options come available on request. Where fitted, the enclosure builds up and breaks down section by section, suiting compartments with limited delivery access, while the generator and engine sit in separate sections so radiated heat moves outward rather than building up in a confined space.

Our systems

Zenoro’s emergency generators cover the range a superyacht’s essential loads require. This spans from compact single-unit sets to configurations sized for larger builds. Above 130 kWe, Zenoro equips the marine generator set with a Xeamos aftertreatment system as standard. The aftertreatment system can be DPF-only, SCR-only, or a combined DPF/SCR configuration, matched to the emission legislation and classification requirements that apply. Below that threshold, the same aftertreatment systems are available as an option.
