At the moment, no less than 5 large Premium gensets are being built for the diesel electric propulsion of a 70 meter explorer yacht, called ‘Project Master’ by ICON. Each genset of 524kWe contains a Scania DI16 marine engine, with a power of 553kW @1800 rpm, a 690VAC Leroy Somer alternator and a waste heat recovery system to increase overall efficiency. Additionally every genset is equipped with a custom made DEATS (SCR+DPF) aftertreatment system with fuel burner of Xeamos.
Over the past few weeks, we have rigorously tested the first premium genset for this project and are now finalizing those tests. For next week, the second genset will be prepared for testing.
As we ready the first premium genset for shipment, clearing space in our warehouse, we are also beginning the construction of the third genset. Our goal is to finish a genset every two weeks.
